The fourth movie in the Mad Max franchise, Mad Max: Fury Road, was a roaring success back in 2015, and so, with such success comes sequels and spin-offs, with the latter being based around Charlize Theron's intrepid warrior, the superbly named Imperator Furiosa. A recent development on the upcoming Mad Max: Furiosa has suggested that the production is eyeing two major stars for lead roles. A new report that has hit the Internet states that Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller and company are now eyeing the star of drama Killing Eve, Jodie Comer, for a younger version of Furiosa for the spin-off prequel. The report also says that Eternals and Game of Thrones star Richard Madden will star opposite her in a new role. The rumored casting breakdown lists the Richard Madden character as being named 'Dementus', a very Mad Max-esque name indeed, with the character being described as 'breathtakingly handsome. An angel's face, scarred by a deep forehead wound stitched together with shiny staples.' So, it sounds like he will have a very distinctive look, and indeed a look that fits with what we have come to expect with the poor souls who inhabit the Mad Max universe. The same breakdown also stats that Aquaman and the upcoming The Matrix 4 star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is being eyed for a character simply named 'Male 2'. He is described as being a character with 'stature and presence', which suits Yahya Abdul-Mateen II pretty well. Comer meanwhile sounds like a good fit for a young Furiosa, her outstanding work in Killing Eve certainly demonstrates that she has the chops to pull it off, even if it does seem somewhat sacrilegious to continue the story of the character without Charlize Theron. Perhaps she could still feature in some capacity, should Mad Max: Furiosa be told in a flashback format. It was confirmed last July by director Geoge Miller that he had at least two sequels to Mad Max: Fury Road planned in addition to the Furiosa prequel. He briefly discussed what is to come, sounding confident that all three movies would come to fruition. 'There are two stories, both involving Mad Max, and also a Furiosa story. We're still solving, we've got to play out the [Warner Bros.] thing, it seems to be pretty clear that it's going to happen.'Something that may well become an issue though is Miller's current lawsuit against Warner Bros. for alleged unpaid royalties for Mad Max: Fury Road. For now though, let us just share in his confidence, as Fury Road proved that Miller is far from done with the crazy world of Mad Max. Furiosa was originally played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road, she is a rebel warrior, who in the movie took on a quest to overthrow a tyrant who controls the land's water supply. Theron appeared alongside Venom star Tom Hardy. It is expected that Mad Max: Furiosa will begin production later this year. Margot Robbie just put Birds of Prey out into theaters and she's already back on set as the villainous character. The standalone movie hasn't been able to catch on at the box office, despite getting positive reviews from fans and critics. Warner Bros. decided to shorten the project's gigantic title in order to make searching for it online a bit easier. It also puts Harley Quinn first, as opposed to the other way around. The Suicide Squad unofficial set image features Margot Robbie dressed in a red dress with black, red, and white hair. Robbie looks a lot more like the comic version of Harley Quinn. In addition to the image, there is a separate video of the character dressed in the same outfit as she hails a cab. This should be a look that comic book fans are familiar with and it is wildly different from her Birds of Prey clothing. James Gunn can also be spotted in the image. Margot Robbie recently spoke about playing Harley Quinn again in The Suicide Squad. While Birds of Prey and the upcoming movie aren't directly connected to each other, there are some similarities that they share, including an Easter Egg that refers to a certain character from 2016's Suicide Squad in the Harley Quinn movie. Robbie had this to say when asked about the differences in playing the character this time around. 'You get to see another side of Harley [in The Suicide Squad]. It's interesting. You keep getting to meet her at different points in her life, as if a couple of years have gone by. Of course, the films aren't directly connected, but as an actor, I can map it out in a chronological sense. So, it's fun to see 'Okay, what was she like a couple of years ago when she was with Mister J?' 'What is she like now, after they've broken up? And what is she going to be like in another couple of years' time?' I love seeing her at these different stages of her life.'One thing that both Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad will share is the fact that Jared Leto's Joker won't be included. He will more than likely be referred to, but he won't be in the movie. James Gunn assembled a huge talented cast for the movie, so it will be interesting to see how he's able to balance everything out when the movie hits theaters. Leto is currently in the middle of reshoots for Morbius in Los Angeles. The Suicide Squad will more than likely wrap principal photography in the coming weeks before going into post-production. As for reshoots, it isn't clear if James Gunn will need them at this time. Even he does, they will probably only be for minor adjustments. While we wait for more updates on the mysterious storyline, you can check out the fresh looks at Harley Quinn below, thanks to the Haven of Harley Twitter account.♦️ New 'The Suicide Squad' image shows Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. pic.twitter.com/3TMPEO1450 — ♦️Haven of...Nicole Kidman is set to star in yet another prestige TV series. The Big Little Lies star is set to play one of the two leads in Amazon’s TV series adaptation of Janelle Brown’s forthcoming novel Pretty Things. The Handmaid’s Tale and The Rhythm Section director Reed Morano is set to helm the series. Variety reports that Nicole Kidman has signed on to play one of the two series leads in Amazon’s Pretty Things cast. Amazon won the rights to the upcoming novel in a “highly competitive situation” with multiple bidders, according to Variety. Pretty Things, which centers around “two brilliant, damaged women who try to survive the greatest game of deceit and destruction they will ever play,” per Variety. One woman is a reluctant grifter who befriends a wealthy “influencer,” and whose “ultimate con devolves into a raw, treacherous game of long-awaited payback.” The book has already garnered buzz for Brown, whose previous novels include All We Ever Wanted Was Everything and This Is Where We Live, enough to get a series adaptation greenlit before the book was even released. Pretty Things will hit bookshelves on April 21, 2020. Kidman will be producing the series via her Blossom Films banner, in just the latest of the actress’ prestige TV projects. After earning acclaim and an Emmy win for her role in Big Little Lies, which she also executive produced, Kidman has gotten a taste for producing and starring in prestige TV series — most based on novels, many on Liane Moriarty the author of Big Little Lies novels. She’s set to star opposite Hugh Grant in HBO’s The Undoing, the release of which was pushed to later this year, and she also has an adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s Nine Perfect Strangers set up at Hulu. Pretty Things sounds right up Kidman’s alley, with its depiction of complicated women at odds with each other. Brown will be adapting her novel for the small screen as well as executive producing. Morano, who also executive produces, will step behind the camera to helm the series. Per Saari will also serve as executive producer for Blossom Films.
